The Impromptu Self Portrait Project
If you were suddenly told to take a picture of yourself how would you construct that image?
What would you emphasize? What would you try to hide?

I’m beginning a new project that I’ll focus on simultaneously with my Fringe project: a poster for each episode of Once Upon A Time.
I’m trying to use a style unique from the Fringe posters so I don’t feel confined by one style all the time. Plus, these will be a lot more minimalist, so they don’t take nearly as much time to make.
I realized that, as much as I love light blue, using the color as my background does a disservice to the work I post. From now on I’m using a much more minimalist theme with a plain white background, so that all the focus is drawn to the individual pieces.
My bemused yellow face icon is also gone. I might work it in somehow. Or just create a whole new logo.
Adios!

Attention!
Starting at the end of August I’m beginning a new project. I’ll design and release a poster each day for every episode of Season 1 of the show Fringe.
This series will be really spontaneous and I plan on the posters being more minimalist in their design, but I’m excited to try this out.
If I get good feedback I plan on doing later seasons too.
Special Announcement!
Today marks the grand opening of the “Sets Page” on my Tumblr! Any images or posters that I’ve designed as part of an ensemble can be viewed collectively on the Sets Page.
And to kick us off…
Here are some flyers I designed for the Children’s Ministry Boys’ and Girls’ Group of the church I grew up in. I started these back in 2009.
Church flyers for kids are notorious for their awful design, so I wanted to create a batch that would inspire kids to get excited. I think this was also the birth of my love of minimalism.
